Dermal fillers under the microscope

Dermal fillers under the microscope ?

01/14/2012

As the war of words continues regarding P.I.P breast implants, news emerges that the non surgical aspects of the aesthetic industry could soon be under review.
According to recent reports there are up to 160 different injectable fillers available in the United Kingdom.

Its true to say that there are many wrinkle fillers out there. Personally I have stuck to a small range of injectables that I have known and trusted for many years. That may sound a little conservative in an ever changing industry, but as a Professional you have to be ready to take responsibility for the treatments that you provide.

Many of the Doctors and Nurse Practitioners that I know, and many that I have trained, stick to products that they know and trust. They stick to them because they know that they deliver consistently good results with miminum risk.
We welcome any investigation by the Government. Everyone knows that the aesthetic industry has found its way to the high street, with mixed results.

It is absolutely essential that as a Patient you find a suitably trained and qualified professional to provide your injectable treatments. Dont be afraid to ask to see trainng certificates. If your Practitioner is unwilling to provide them , make your excuses and leave.
Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see how things develop in the aeshtetics industry, which has been rocked to the very core by the P.I.P implant scare
